World Lore

This section will be updated as the story continues.

The Silent One

"A saint to some, if saints were feared."

Legends speak of the Silent One, an ancient demon which preys on those who enter the Dead Pines at night. Some revere it as a god, but hope, all the same, never to see it. Within his domain, a whisper can be heard: "Do you seek Him?"

The Nameless God

"Do you seek Him?"

The Nameless God is a being which predates the oldest deities of men, elves, and  dragons. It is said that He will one day awaken from His slumber and bring about the Age of Ruin. What manner of men would follow such a god?

The Dead Pines

"Fear the strangers in your midst."

The dark forest that derives its name from an older time when the corpses of an ancient war were pinned and strung from its trees. More recently, travelers have reported seeing the decaying corpses of mutilated animals and fresh humanoid skeletons near Ilmater's Hope, presumably belonging to local criminals.

The Neverborn

"Hark. He shall take form, child of the Grand Creator. The bell of bone will toll twice, heralding his arrival. Welcome then, the first child of Fernuine, with gifts of flesh and blood. None can stop his triumphant march, as his host consumes the flesh of friends and delivers him from Cromana. Thought, will, given form, our Formless Lord, the Neverborn God."

The Sunken Bulwark

"Keep this way."

Far to the north, upon a small island chain is a temple built in honor of the Sunken One. The sparse rocks, crashing waves, and dangerous spires have long been the home of the Sunken Priests who maintain the Tide Altar. Originally built by giants, sailors and those of the Sunken Faith come to observe the Ritual of Last Light and give offerings in exchange for safe passage at sea in the coming year.

The Isle of Silver Shores

"Frozen and alone, consumed by seas.

Lost, forgotten, abandoned by not silent, she lives.

A fortress on the island sleeps, guarded by simple light. She lives.

Halls of treasure wait within the unquiet ruins,

glistening beneath its silver sands, she lives.

Those who come can never leave. She lives."
